Helen Brooks, a partner in ownership of CHF of Cataula, has
been in the antique business for more than 30 years.  Helen
started out small selling her treasures at weekend outdoor
markets.  Her passion for the business soon took her to
opening her own booth at the Emmitsburg Antique Mall in
Emmitsburg, Maryland, where she successfully sold for more than fifteen years.

In 2006 the opportunity presented itself to open a family-owned antique shop in Cataula, GA with her son Scott Johnston, and daughter-in-law Kelly.  Soon thereafter, Helen packed up all her treasures, collectibles and furniture, relocated to Columbus, GA, and opened Country Home Furnishings of Cataula, a family-owned business with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Today, the business includes our small family of three: Helen, Scott and Kelly.  Country is our first love, but we have many styles and eras represented throughout the shop—Helen, with 30 years of experience and a great passion for antiques; her son Scott, who is following in Mom’s antique footsteps and has a wonderful sense of style and taste for primitives; and her daughter-in-law, Kelly with her fabulous decorative abilities and creativity.  She and her husband Scott compliment each others taste, as you can see in each room in the original 1840’s House / Shop, and the new 3,800 sq. ft. facility directly behind it.
